“The others don’t see-seem to think, so. But I’ve always appreciated the ah-arts and literature more than the actual action. Rea-really, knowledge is much mo-more valuable than vigour.” A spark of excitement lighted his eyes as he spoke, one that was long gone after his parents died.
"Books are the best. When I grew up no one else read as much as I did but I don’t think anything could make me give them up.” Klaire told the shadowhunter with a grin “Exactly vigour is all well and good but you can’t beat some good old-fashioned knowledge.”
“Swords mostly … dabbled with guns, why?”
“No reason it just occurred to me that I didn’t know.”
“Have you tried anything else beyond guns?”
“I normally use a chakram but Artemis showed me how to use a gun and I’ve been practising since.”
With a small chuckle, the werewolf shook his head and replied, “But I am always correct. There is not a moment when I make a wrong assumption.” Alaric regarded the topic lightly and with disinterest; he was used to people doubting his intelligence and knowledge —— a mistake that most should really be careful of. “Especially not of young, idiotic warlocks such as yourself.” He added the last bit spitefully, though not mirth absent from his eyes.
“We’ll see.” Klaire replied before turning back to her books. The man was really grating on her nerves and she thought it would be best just to ignore him. Klaire flicked through her books writing notes along the way.
