Klaire looked up at the building, which looked battered and
beaten with an inch of its life, she wondered how it was still standing at all.
Covered in graffiti with smashed in windows and crumpling bricks, dust grey and
brown paint just about clinging to the walls. It was completely grim and she
understood why the demons would have chosen it for one of their hidey-holes,
and why mundanes just walked past without a second glance.
Tearing her eyes away from the crumbling building she looked
up and down the street waiting for Yvonne to appear. Klaire probably should
have waited for her at the Institute but her anticipation won over and she had
raced to pick up her chakrams before legging it to the building. Standing
outside Klaire wished she had had the strength to wait and search for the
mundane, the building’s aura creeped Klaire out as she rubbed her arms trying
to free them of goose bumps.
The prospect of meeting more demons worried Klaire a little,
although she had faced and killed them before it still was scary at the idea of
fighting them again. Though Klaire had no idea what experience Yvonne had had
with demons either, she was confident that together the two could defeat the
demons.
